Your favorite first mate always on watch The Mariners main features are a sailing timer, a barometer, a compass and a watch. To make you get the most out of sailing, the Mariner has easy-to-read display with large numerals, backlight, and user-replaceable battery. It is fully waterproof to a depth of 30 m/ 100 ft. A reliable timekeeper The sailing timer allows the user to set the time left to start and synchronize the timer with the race committee at any time by a push of a button. Large numerals and audible warning signals let you concentrate more on maneuvering your boat in the swarming of the start while the Mariner keeps you informed on up-coming critical moments. The sailing timer allows the user to choose the countdown period to the start from 120 to zero at different intervals. All that depends on what signals are given in that particular race. The user can at any time adjust the countdown timer to the closest full minute: very useful for example when checking the 5-minute signal. A beep that is heard first every 10 minutes down to 60 minutes, then every minute and every 10 seconds during the last minute, alerts the user to the up-coming start. During the last 10 seconds an audible signal is heard every second. When the countdown is completed, a stopwatch will automatically start running. The range of the stopwatch is 120 hours, i.e. five days. Fifty waypoint times can be stored in memory for later analysis. The sailing timer has been developed together with some of the top sailors in the world, with experience from the Whitbread Around the World Race to the World Championships. The calendar watch of the Mariner is pre-programmed to the year 2089, has 3 daily alarms, a regular stopwatch and countdown timer. In addition, Mariner also features dual time. No matter what sea you’re sailing, Mariner is always on watch! Keep the right course The electronic compass is a great tool for direction taking for any boater. It shows you your bearing and cardinal or half-cardinal point, a North-South arrow, and features a bearing tracking function which displays locked bearing, actual bearing and the difference between the two. Mariner also allows for declination adjustment. The rotating bezel with a ratchet at every five degrees is especially useful when memorizing wind direction before the start of a sailing race. Keep one step ahead of the storm The barometer function of the Mariner keeps the user one step ahead of the storm. In addition to current barometric pressure and temperature, Mariner gives pressure-related data for the past four days: the first six hours in one-hour intervals and after that in six-hour intervals. The resolution of the barometer is 1 mbar/0.05 inHg. When the reference altitude is correctly set, the instrument also shows the present sea level pressure, which makes it easier to read and understand the barometric pressure at high altitudes. The operating temperature is -20 - +50 Celsius, -5 - +120 Fahrenheit.
